Writer Statement
I chose to write my first full-length screenplay about the transformative year of 1912 because it marked a defining moment in Arizona’s history—a time of political upheaval, social change, and the fierce determination of individuals carving out their place in an evolving world. Through the lives of four families, each tethered to struggle, tradition, and defiance, I wanted to explore how personal battles against injustice and societal constraints shaped not just their destinies but the future of Arizona itself.
