Synopsis:

Inspired by true events that unfolded over a century ago between 1910-1914, "The Dog Bite Murders" is a story that captured nationwide attention, even drawing the involvement of U.S. President Woodrow Wilson. In 1910 Arizona Territory, two hunters meet a tragic end on the Apache Reservation, prompting a determined attorney to defend the accused. As the case unfolds across five trials from territorial to federal court, the attorney grapples with personal torment.

Director - Name

Clint Clarkson

Director, Clint Clarkson, is a cinematographer, director and writer. He has years of experience in filmmaking and audio engineering. He is a graduate of the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences, where he earned a degree in audio engineering. Over the years, he has transitioned into roles as a cinematographer and/or director on several filmmaking endeavors that he has written/co-written. His credits include one full-length feature film, The Dog Bite Murders, set to premiere in 2025, along with two short films. He has also filmed several music videos for songs written by platinum-certified songwriters. Clint is well-rounded, taking on the responsibilities of producing, editing, sound mixing, and color grading in his films. In his personal life, Clint is a husband of 16 years and has three wonderful children.

Director Statement

Thank you for taking the time to watch our film. We started writing the script for this film over two years ago with research and development. We were captivated by the facts of the cases based on turn of the century newspaper articles and court documents we found in the archives.

There is so much heart behind this project ranging from the directors, actors, writers, composer, and crew. We aim to immerse audiences in a riveting narrative that honors the memory of the victims and pays homage to the resilience of a community in the face of adversity. As you watch this film set between 1910-1914, you will see it is an Americana story with underlying societal topics that are still relevant today.

Co-Director, Gregory Shoemaker, is an actor, writer, and director with a deep passion for storytelling in all its forms. In addition to his creative endeavors, Gregory is a dedicated Realtor, helping clients find their dream homes. He has been happily married to his wife for 10 years, and together they live with their three children and two dogs in the small, close-knit community of Globe, Arizona. A passionate history enthusiast, Gregory loves exploring historical sites and learning about the past. His love for history and his creative spirit shape both his professional and personal life.
