Director Statement

This film represents a testament to the Sussex and Kent based UK film makers both young and old on a strict low budget who have made what is a suspenseful, intense and hugely enjoyable movie who's tiresome work should be acclaimed and noted accordingly. A huge thanks to everyone concerned. We're so proud of you all.

Neill: Writer and Producer:

Originally from a show biz family, my mother was an actress and later sat in front of the camera as a news reader, my father was a producer. I tried to make it as an actor in mt very early years by realised at a young age that being able to pay the bills would be rather nice, so got myself an actual job!

However, I kept acting part time whenever I could, especially in later years in local theatre and small independent film productions.

Since retiring from the Wine trade, I have been able to pursue my passion for writing and having acted In Leighs Tarrants previous film, a short called ‘a Curious tale’ in 2021, I wrote a sequel, The Presence of Snowgood’, turning it into a full length feature, loosely based on the first film, but not requiring any knowledge of the previous story to enjoy the film.

Writing the screen play turned into producing the film as well as playing the role on screen of the hapless retired doctor, Anton Bartholemew.

This was a complete learning curve for me, getting the film off the ground with limited budget and facilities. I certainly would never have achieved it without the help of my wife, Debs, who is the Exec producer and of course Leigh the Director and his wife, Jane, the other exec producer.

I certainly found out the hard way that being a producer is not glamourous! Raising cash, casting, juggling shoot logistics and British weather, Location finding and management, sound and visual editing advice, marketing, film classification, formatting, distribution….All a walk in the park!!

Would I do it again…lets see how this film does…but never say no!..There si always room to expand a story…

This was a definite labour of love which allowed me to work with a great bunch of people, whether our established pro’s like Caroline Munro and Sarah Maur Ward or the fabulous local actors, along with local crew and skilled cameraman, Tony Sims. Everybody played their part!

I hope you enjoy the film and a slice of 1980’s South Coast England…Pub included!
