Hailing from the soulful landscapes of Alabama, I bring a unique blend of resilience and storytelling honed through nearly a decade of active-duty service in the Air Force. My military journey, rewarded with a host of decorations and awards, took me across various bases and deployments. This chapter of my life instilled in me a profound understanding of discipline, camaraderie, and the relentless pursuit of excellence under even the most demanding conditions.
My creative path further unfolded in the vibrant atmospheres of Santa Barbara, California, and at Arizona State University, where I immersed myself in the craft of storytelling. These academic and cultural experiences enriched my perspective, melding my disciplined past with a creative vision that challenges boundaries and redefines narratives
.
Today, Arizona is more than just a place of residence—it is the heartbeat of my creative journey. I proudly claim the state as my home, drawing inspiration from its vast, rugged landscapes and spirited communities. Indomitable in nature, I approach every project with the fervor and determination that have defined my life’s path, striving to create films that resonate with raw human experiences and a relentless drive for innovation.
I invite you to join me on this journey, where the echoes of strength, creativity, and resilience converge to tell stories that are as expansive and compelling as the landscapes that inspire them.
Director Statement
There’s an old saying, “drive it until the wheels fall off,” and with this film, I wanted to capture that sentiment both literally and metaphorically. “Where Do The Cars Go?” is a meditation on the relentless chase—on pushing forward with all our might even as the very parts that keep us moving begin to crumble. I was fascinated by how an expression that originally evoked a wild, unyielding spirit could be deconstructed into a visual journey that explores both the celebration of endurance and the poignant inevitability of decay.
In crafting this short film, I aimed to embody the contradiction between relentless ambition and the fragility that underpins every journey. The narrative visually and symbolically dissects the idea of going full throttle until no mechanism is left to support the momentum. On one level, it asks the viewer to consider how far we can push our limits before our own structure collapses. On a deeper plane, it prompts us to reflect on the beauty and terror of living life at its most extreme—running on fumes, passion, and the unstoppable march of time.
Every shot, every sequence, is designed to mirror the internal struggle we face: the conflict between our desire to keep moving forward and the ultimate reality of our finite existence. The imagery of wheels detaching and the car journeying into uncertain territories serves as an allegory for moments in life when we continue despite knowing that our very means of support might falter. It’s an invitation to embrace imperfection and acknowledge that sometimes it’s in the unraveling of our constructs that true, raw beauty is revealed.
Ultimately, “Where Do The Cars Go?” is not just about a car or a journey; it’s about the human condition. It’s an exploration of how we celebrate resiliency and even find liberation in surrendering to the inevitable decline. In driving until the wheels fall off, we discover that every crash, every break, paves the way towards a new understanding—an acceptance that the journey itself, with all its reckless beauty, is what truly matters.
I hope this film resonates with you and sparks a dialogue about the delicate balance between unbridled ambition and the tender acceptance of our limitations. If you’re intrigued by this intersection of visual storytelling, metaphor, and raw human experience, I’d love to dive deeper into the philosophy behind this work.
