American Dreams

Feature Script 103 Pages

Synopsis:

When washed-up Indigenous rocker Rockets "Rock" Redglare hits rock bottom, he finds unlikely salvation in a fake head named Roll, the electrifying energy of Portland’s underground music scene, and a young musician named Echo who believes music can still save the world. As they rally a grassroots rebellion against the corrupt corporate developer Dick W. Blake III and his puppet company Nation-Master, Rock is pulled into a surreal, satirical battle for the soul of the city—through council hearings, media warfare, and face-melting live shows.

Inspired by true events and real-world corruption, American Dreams is a wild, heartfelt ride blending music, protest, and absurdist comedy, asking: Can art still change anything in a world bought and sold?

"American Dreams" was born out of the real-life struggles of grieving my best friend and bandmate Ben Holladay, and how I fueled that into my role in Portland's fight against Live Nation. This film will explore the truth of what went down during those civic hearings through the lens of comedy, music, and satire.
